I have found my calling

In another attempt to find alternate sources of income, I found the perfect job for me.

Being a big city, there are lots of surveys and focus groups. I finally qualified for one. I felt bad for running late, but it was hella far northwest. Fortunately, they dropped me in the next group. To do a taste test for chocolate chips!! Now you are talking my language! And I got paid $25!

It was a nice upturn of a shitty day. Another day without work, so I got domestic and tried to be productive. But I kept getting thwarted. The dryer wouldn't restart. My princess roommate left a bag of trash in the kitchen that she expected me to take out. And I couldn't find anywhere to print a single page invoice. ARGH! And don't even get me started on the rip-off that is GRE score reporting.

But my favorite part of the day wasn't even getting paid to eat chocolate, but my check in with some OU people. One of the playwrights and my favorite people to drink coffee with was in town on the fly. So we grabbed some yummy chai in a tiny storefront north of Boystown. And I talked to the other MA, which made my day. It's weird to be in Chicago and happiest to be talking to my OU friends. Nice to finally have homesickness for something I can actually go back to!
