Grad student weekend

The weather was perfect for staying in, which is exactly what I needed to do. Cold, then brief snow, then sleet and rain. And howling wind. Just yucky. So yucky you don't even want to deal with the 2 blocks to get Thai food (which if you wait until Monday is half price!).

Before the precipitation, I made an offering at the altar of Kinko. I suspect I will be making MANY offerings in the next year. Right now, I have a stack of great books from the Chicago Public Library, which, for obvious reasons, can't come home with me. Hence Kinkos. And my Quicken has already asked if I want to make this a regular expense. *sigh* I guess it's better than Clarke's.

Planned on doing some reading at the DePaul library, which wasn't open yet. However, I did get a glimpse of the few, the proud, the Grad students, lined up to get into the library. On a Saturday. During break. In a lame attempt to avoid that fate, I just walked home and basically did the same thing. Lots of reading, starting my UW app, and of course, lots of facebook diversion. Like joining "UVA wouldn't exist without W&M" and the subsequent Hoo bashing.

Looks like more of the same today. Maybe a trip up to Evanston for some Hackney's, which supposedly has some of the best burgers in town.

Hmm. Ramen or black beans and rice for lunch....
