Christmas visions

1. Riding the train on Thursday and Friday, I was really impressed by how merry everyone was. Girls in reindeer antlers, general air of frivolity. It was refreshing to see that in a crowded train in the city.

2. Finishing my Christmas shopping at Kroger in Athens, I got the funniest look. It wasn't until I got in the car to drive to Charlottesville that I realised what was so funny. It was 9.30AM, I'm wearing my pre-coffee scowl, with a 6-pack in one arm and a can of Spam in the other hand with "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" playing in the background. I must have looked like some grumpy alcoholic - Merry Frikkin' Christmas!

3. Killing some time while I got tires today, I scurried across 29N to the mall. There was a long line of kids to take pictures with Santa. Who looked positively drunk. Not that I would blame him, but drooling on infants is usually a little awkward.

Currently, I am hiding and trying to shake off the grumpy-pants before Christmas morning.
