Hashing through the Snow

It seemed like an unlikely thing to see in Chicago, but I saw about 75 hashers running down Fullerton just now. In full Christmas regalia.

OK. Hashing is not a new concept to me, as one of my summer actors a few years ago was a hasher. It's basically socially running. One person lays out a trail, marked by flour or chalk or something inoffensive, and the hashers follow it hither and thither and end up where there is beer. It's the only way you could get me to voluntarily run. And I have never met a hasher I didn't like.

In Charlottesville, this made perfect sense, since there was easy access to a variety of terrain. In Chicago, this was surprising, since it is both flat and urban. And today, snowing. Maybe Athens has a hash club.

Will post pix as soon as I find my cord.
