One of the "girls"

After a lengthy dry spell, I finally have a temp gig. And while it isn't as much fun as my 3 week assignment in January, it is 7 weeks of steady work/paychecks. I am in the Loop doing the receptionist thing. So from 8-10, it is ho-hum. From 10-12, it is insane (it takes me an hour to sort through all the mail and FedEx). But after lunch, it is terribly quiet. I have already read all the news I can find even remotely interesting. I need something to research besides all the sketchy people who want to "friend" me on MySpace.

However, the corporate environment is a little strange. They have a bitchin' game room. The President's admin watches her soap every day. I keep hearing the T-Mobile ring I use for Domestic God. And all the admins are referred to as "The Girls." And it's not just the men! The women call themselves "The Girls." Given that this is a construction/design company, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the demographic is primarily male. But "The Girls" feels a little too "The Secretary is not a Toy".

That said, there is quite a selection of eye candy. Much of which has a nice Irish accent. I bet St. Patrick's Day ought to be pretty special here!
