It's been a while since I did a real roadtrip. And driving from Athens to Charlottesville yesterday kinda hit the spot.
I love driving. Preferably fast. And ideally on fun roads. So being able to fly across the mountains of West Virginia was very satisfying. Being forced to drive the speed limit for fear of an exorbitant speeding ticket wasn't. Today, I got to drive up 20S, which is one of my favorite stretches of pavement to drive, along with the LSD.
Driving gives me a chance to spin my wheels, in every sense. I get to enjoy owning a little speedy Honda. And it gives me a chance to let the bees buzz around in my bonnet. But at the same time, I feel in control, because I am behind the wheel as opposed to fruitlessly obsessing and being stuck on the couch. OCD is just not pretty, but at least when it's in the car, it moves at 70mph, so it just looks like a blur.
