All of these floods are freaking out the animals. In the midwest, the rivers are so swollen, and currents so strong that the carp are totally flipped and now hugging the edge. To the point where, if you were dumb enough to stand at the edge of a raging river, you could reach out and touch the carp. Just what they need - a human petting them - in case they weren't sufficiently stressed. (as reported on NPR)

Freaking out the animals
This one is random, but after hearing two items to the same effect, I had to share.
All of these floods are freaking out the animals. In the midwest, the rivers are so swollen, and currents so strong that the carp are totally flipped and now hugging the edge. To the point where, if you were dumb enough to stand at the edge of a raging river, you could reach out and touch the carp. Just what they need - a human petting them - in case they weren't sufficiently stressed. (as reported on NPR)
